A first for both SG and Sellafield
The first time rope access has been used on the site, our project involved removing dangerous light fittings that had been in place for over 60 years. The alternative of scaffolding would have been prohibitively expensive, while our team brought in the job under the projected cost and ahead of time.
WORK SCOPE
SG electrical rope access technicians gained access to the work zone by lead climbing the lattice steelwork of the turbine hall walls, and then aid climbed within the steel purlins, rigging ropes for access, egress and rescue to any given point within the roof as required. Removing light fittings that had not been touched since the 1950s.
