PETERBOROUGH CATHEDRAL

Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Design, Installation of Fall Arrest System
21st century safety for a 12th century building

We developed a bespoke fall protection system to suit the unique demands of this beautiful and historic cathedral – one of the most important 12th century Norman buildings in England. Following installation, we were retained to provide regular inspection and maintenance.

Type: Rope Access
DURATION: 3 YEARS
TEAM: 3 PEOPLE
WORK SCOPE

SG were honoured to be invited to design, supply and install Fall Protection solutions to the North & South Transect roofs of Peterborough Cathedral. The necessary balance between preserving historical integrity and maintaining modern safety standards was a challenging line to tread, and included re-enforcement of the existing rafters internally via rope access aid climbing to ensure the validity of the system.
