WORKING SAFELY IN CONFINED SPACE
Whether shafts or chimneys, boilers, reactors, tanks, drains or silos, our confined space access and rescue teams have the safe access, rigging and rescue skills necessary to complete your task safely and efficiently. We’re experts at working in hazardous environments, and we can make it safe for others to do so.
CAPABILITY
We provide safe access and egress for confined spaces, including via rope access, for planned or reactive requirements including cleaning, inspection, painting, maintenance and repairs. We’ve tackled everything from cleaning flour silos to welding in cyclones, de-slagging boilers to removing chimney carbon deposits, decommissioning fins in reactors to replacing mixers in water treatment tanks. Whatever your requirement, we have the skills and experience to tackle it safely and efficiently.
CONFINED SPACE SAFETY
The HSE defines a confined space as ‘a place which is substantially enclosed, – and where serious injury can occur from hazardous substances or conditions within the space or nearby.’
The Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 highlight key duties:
1. Avoid entry to confined spaces;
2. If entry is unavoidable, follow a safe system of work;
3. Put in place adequate emergency arrangements before the work start.
PROJECTS
As confined space and difficult access specialists, we’ve applied our expertise to provide safe access and rescue for efficient completion of works in reactors and sugar silos, boilers and water works, cross girders, bridge towers, deep shafts, high chimneys, and everything in between.
