CO-OP BUILDING

Manchester, England
Glazing & Mastic works
Glazing at height via rope access

An impressive multi layered glass structure, SG were contracted to perform the high level glazing and mastic works at the Co-Op building in Manchester, using rope access techniques and temporary fall arrest solutions to enable safe access.

Type: Rope Access
DURATION: 2 MONTHS
TEAM: 10 PEOPLE
WORK SCOPE

The giant glazed stepped lattice roof of the atrium lightwell at the building’s heart is an intricate jigsaw of sloping and curved glass that required rope access teams for preparation, installation and sealing of the glazed units, as well as related elements of the building fabric located at height.

SG supplied a 10 man team of  IRATA qualified abseilers to conduct glazing and mastic pointing works at height using industrial rope access techniques to gain safe access to the work zones.
