Glasgow’s New Southern General Hospital is Scotland’s newest state-of the art hospital. The exterior is fully glazed curtain walling and SG Access rope access teams were employed to conduct the rope access installation of curtain walling units, rope access inspection, general repairs and abseil cleaning.
Following the initial construction and installation phase, we then worked with our client to develop a safe system of work at height using abseiling to facilitate inspection and maintenance throughout the facades, including rope access systems for the replacement or repair of curtain walling units.
Our team worked seamlessly with our client’s personnel and site management to integrate fully compliant rope access methods with properly planned lifting operations to achieve the scope of works required in minimum time, with an impeccable safety record.
Now fully operational, the NSGH is set to become an iconic building and the jewel in the crown of Scotland’s NHS, and we are proud to have been a part of its construction. We congratulate our rope access glazing team for completing all works to a high standard, safely and efficiently on a busy and challenging project.
