Calum MacDonald: Director
Leading the team from head office in Edinburgh, as company director and overall quality manager, Calum is heavily involved in all aspects of the smooth running of the company.
Calum from time to time pleads a place on the team for some of the more interesting projects, but in general he can be found carrying out site visits, liaising with clients, and maintaining the general workings of the company.

Paul Smith: Site Ops Manager
IRATA L3 – SSSTS Site Supervisor – First Aid – Asbestos Aware – Confined Space – IPAF – CSCS Blue – PPE Inspector.
Upon first working with SG Access as a subcontractor many years ago, Paul let us know that one way or another he would ensure he would become part of the permanent core team. Sure enough through his hard work, dedication, enthusiasm, and genuine belief in our core values he did just that. Prior to rope access, Paul served in the military, following which he became a coatings specialist. As an experienced IRATA L3 rope access technician he is at home in a wide variety of environments, but industrial coatings remain his speciality. A vital cog in the SG Access workings, Paul provides site supervision and operational support to our projects UK wide.
Favourite Projects: Forth Road Bridge
Bradley Thomas: Site Ops Manager
IRATA L3 – SSSTS Site Supervisor – IPAF – GGR Trained – First Aid – Asbestos Aware – CSCS Blue – Scaffold Inspector
Bradley has been with SG since 2014, and based in Glasgow, he now provides site supervision and operational support to our Glasgow projects and those UK wide. Prior to rope access Bradley specialised in metal roofing and cladding as a roofing foreman, and while he might now consider his main speciality to be high level curtain walling, his broad scope of experience makes him at home in most working environments. With his level head, professionalism, and keen eye for detail, Bradley brings a stable and calming influence to even the most high pressure projects, making him an exceptional IRATA Level 3 Safety Supervisor, and an integral part of our core team.
Favourite Projects: Glasgow College of Art City Campus - Rope Access Curtain Walling
Doug McNeil: UAV Operations Manager
Doug is the only person we know who actually, is, a rocket scientist (… although technically he points out, not actually), and prior to SG has done very clever things within the space industry, most recently applying advanced satellite communication technologies to UAV (/drone) applications.
Having known Doug personally for many years before he joined us, we aren’t surprised to see him take the SG ethos of ‘Going Above & Beyond’ to new heights, because as it turns out – the sky is not the limit.
For your UAV Inspection & Survey requirements, please contact Doug on firstname.lastname@example.org
Favourite Projects: Connel Bridge Inspection
John Benson: IRATA L3 Safety Supervisor, Ops Support
IRATA L3 – SSSTS Site Supervisor – CSCS Blue – First Aid – IPAF – Asbestos Aware
Exceptionally hard working and diligent, John leads by example, never failing to buoy his projects with his trademark dry sense of humour.
Having been an integral part of most of our major projects for years as a subcontractor, and already considered very much a Gibbon, we couldn’t be happier that John has joined the full time SG team as IRATA L3 Safety Supervisor & Ops Support.
